A table set with intention.
Southtable began with a simple frustration: dinnerware was either disposable and lifeless, or precious and unusable. We wanted the third thing — pieces with warmth and character that you'd actually reach for on a Tuesday.
Warm glazes, honest materials, and a clear conscience about what touches food.
We design in three materials we trust — high-fired stoneware, pressed glass, and 18/10 stainless — and finish them in a palette of warm, low-sheen glazes that look as good holding leftovers as they do at a dinner party. Nothing in the collection is a copy of someone else's pattern. The shapes are drawn to be generous and quietly modern, the kind of pieces that disappear into the background of a good meal and make everything on them look better.
Because our pieces touch food, we take the boring, important part seriously. Food-contact tableware is tested to the lead and cadmium limits set by the U.S. FDA and California's Proposition 65, and certificates of analysis are available on request. The handful of purely decorative pieces in the range — centerpieces, napkin rings — are labelled clearly so there's never any doubt about what's meant to hold dinner and what's meant to be looked at.
SOUTHERN TABLE LLC is registered in Florida, and we ship worldwide in USD, insured for the fragile journey ceramics make. If a piece arrives broken, we replace it — no debate. That's the whole idea: a table you can set with intention, and trust completely.
